Now we are in October the autumnal vibes are in full swing with many bloggers partaking in blogtober. Although I am way too busy and my life is far too messy to actually be a part of blogtober I have seen this tag going around and wanted to give it a go, so here it is.
WHAT SIGNIFIES THE START OF AUTUMN FOR YOU?
If you’ve read my Hello September post you’ll know that for me its the 1st of September. Its the day that makes me start noticing the changing leaves which for me are a huge part to the aesthetic of the season. Autumn wouldn’t be anything without its orange, red and brown hues.
BEST WAY TO SPEND A RAINY DAY
Its going to seem really lazy but I love being all cuddled up in bed with my blinds open just watching and listening to the rain. I do the same with summer storms, just throw back the curtains, turn the lights off and just watch and listen to it all unfold. There is nothing cosier than being tucked up in bed and when mother nature is raging outside, nothing is going to make you feel warmer or safer.
FAVOURITE AUTUMN SCENT
Anything spiced. Nothing gives off a warmer vibe than spiced apple or ginger filling the house. Partnered with comfy cushions, candles and blankets, nothing could be more autumnal.
WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED FOR THIS AUTUMN?
I have recently bought the new Sainsbury’s BAKE magazine and I just can’t wait to try out some of the recipes as well as sharing with you all some of the Halloween treats I’ve been working on. Also the free taster for my Christmas ebook comes out in the middle of November so that’s exciting.
FAVOURITE AUTUMN SONG
October is when I dig out my Halloween playlist so I’d have to say anything from that, my favourite being Grim Grinning Ghosts from the Disney ride the Haunted Mansion. Other than those spooky songs I love listening to more country or indie folk songs such as Tenenbaum or Willow Tree March by The Paper Kites or anything from the soundtrack of Nashville. There is nothing like those genres to make you feel woodsy and cosy.
FAVOURITE AUTUMN MOVIE
If you don’t answer The Nightmare Before Christmas then what are you doing with the latter half of your year. It works for Halloween and Christmas. I am also a sucker for the original Scream.
WHAT TV SHOWS ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS SEASON?
If you’d asked me a few years ago I would have said either the Vampire Diaries or the Originals (which I am still catching up on after a long break from watching it). However now I don’t tend to find as much time or have as much interest for TV shows. That being said I am so excited about the new season of Fuller House on Netfilx and enjoy watching a couple of those during my lunch breaks at work. I also binged Girl Boss at the end of last month and loved it. Besides those Ben and I are still trying to get through Iron Fist so we can watch Defenders (we are such nerds). I also like to stay in and watch Strictly on a Saturday night when we don’t have the cinema booked.
FAVOURITE AUTUMN SHADE
Am I allowed to say I love them all. The berries and burgundies, the bright red and dark crimson, pumpkin orange and of course mustard. I have an item of each in my wardrobe and love pairing them all off with each other.
FAVOURITE AUTUMN TREND
This year a big favourite in the shops is shearling and borg which I am fully behind. I recently bought a lovely borg cuffed aviator jacket from Primark which I absolutely adore. I also love stripes, as I am writing this I am currently wearing a lovely long sleeve white and navy striped top with tassels on the bottom, pair it with some cosy knee high boots and leggings and you’ve got a super cosy autumn look.
MOST LOVED OUTDOOR AUTUMN ACTIVITY
I love a walk. Simple as, no matter the time of year I love to go for a walk. I am lucky in the sense that whether I am at mine or Ben’s I only have to walk 5 minutes straight down the road to get to the seafront or hop in the car for 15 minutes to find some lovely woods to walk through and admire the changing leaves. Another favourite of mine is always bonfire night. Huddled with friends around a large bonfire, watching fireworks and going on fairground rides. I can’t think of anything better.
I found this tag through my wonderful friend Verity so click her name to check out her answers and I hope you all have fun answering them yourselves, even if you aren’t a blogger, sometimes its still nice to answer these kinds of questions just so you really appreciate the season you are in and the things and people around you.
